Cleanup, Composting, and more!

Kick off Earth Week right! Join Coastal Carolina Riverwatch and Hammocks Beach State Park for a litter cleanup on April 18th 10 am-1 pm. Call HBSP to register: 910-326-4881.

You can participate on foot or by paddle. Bring your own paddle craft or go to paddlenc.com to rent a kayak-mention the cleanup for a discount!

This Earth Day, join Coastal Carolina Riverwatch, NC Cooperative Extension, and Carteret Food and Health Council for Vermiculture 101. This is a free virtual workshop on April 22nd at 6 pm.

Vermiculture is the practice of keeping earthworms for composting. You can keep your kitchen waste out of landfills and turn it into nutrient-rich compost. Vermiculture is easier than you think. Tune in to learn how you can reduce your environmental footprint in this fun, interactive way!
